Grateful Heart Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is 100% volunteer run.

We provide a safe, loving forever home to farm animals that have suffered abuse, neglect, abandonment, have special needs or are otherwise at risk.

If you LOVE animals and want to make a difference in their lives then this is the opportunity for YOU.

We have multiple volunteer opportunities for those who need community service hours or just want to give back.  You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  For your safety you must be in good physical health for the position chosen.

Our volunteer days and hours are:

Sunday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
and
Monday through Friday from 3:00 p,m. to 4:30 p.m.

We have volunteer opportunities for the following:

Feeding and providing water for the horses, burros, goats, pigs, chickens and cats.
Mucking stalls and turn out areas for the horses, burros, goats, pigs and chickens.
Grooming the horses, burros, and goats.
Massaging the pigs.
Socializing with the horses, burros, goats, pigs, and chickens. (This is a wonderful position for those with physical or mental limitations).
Grounds clean up including raking up pine cones and needles, picking up branches, creating pathways with rocks.
Building housing and fencing for the animals.
Working on electric fencing.
Cleaning and organizing the hay barn and feed barn.
Involvement in events and activities.
Involvement in social media.
