Event Description:
  • The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and anyone to support persons with intellectual disabilities by running, walking or dancing into the chilly waters at Big Bear Lake.
  • A few hundred people are expected to weather the cold and plunge into freezin' waters on March 16 to support Special Olympics Inland Empire.
  • All participants will enjoy the festivities (either by taking the plunge or watching from the "Chicken Coop").
  • Raise more than $50, and you will have the opportunity to earn other cool and fun prizes!


DAY OF THE THE PLUNGE

The Polar Plunge is a wacky event like none other, and we want you to have fun experiencing all the festivities. All you have to do is show up ready to leap into the water. That means:

  • Invite all your family and friends to not only donate to your cause but to come and watch all the frigid fun.
  • Bring old shoes, water shoes, or sandals that strap to your feet. Don't forget, the sand will be cold.
  • Pack a change of clothes and towel to wear after you Plunge.
  • Bring a bag for your wet clothes.
  • When plunging, make sure not to ingest the water.
